Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (to coat the dough)
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil - for frying
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 large chicken breast, cut in half lengthwise
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves​

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F.
  • Roll out your pizza dough onto a baking sheet or pizza pan.
  • Marinate chicken with salt and pepper for 15 minutes.
  • In a skillet, cook chicken until it's no longer pink and then set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter and gradually whisk in flour.
  • Slowly add chicken broth and heavy whipping cream while continuously whisking until smooth.
  • Stir in garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to taste.
  • Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes until thickened, then remove from heat.
  • Spread the Alfredo sauce evenly over the pizza dough.
  • Top with cooked chicken, sliced red onion, and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, add more Parmesan cheese  and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top of the pizza.
